Scalable Vector Grahics or shortly SVG can be inserted and edited by the following programs: Microsoft Word/Outlook/PowerPoint/Excel on any kind of Windows, Android, Mac, and other modern mobile devices. This information will h interesting if your email/workbook/presentation contain SVG images which you want to edit. It is important to mention that this feature is available to subscribers of Office 365.
In fact, your SVG image can be customized in several ways. In order to get access to editing tools, you will have to press on SVG image and click the contextual tab “Format” which should be available on your Ribbon.The tab “Format” offers the following options:
Change Graphic – you can choose any other image and use it for replacing the image you have right now.
Graphic Styles – you can have access to various pre-defined styles which will convert the image into a creative drawing or it will change the color of the fill.
Graphics Fill – the color of your current image can be changed. In the following gallery you can choose any matching style and pick it from thousands of colors.
Eyedropper – this is a very creative tool. Once it is chosen from the menu, your cursor will get changed to the eyedropper which is accompanied by a tiny box. You can point it at any kind of object in your document or presentation and this box will fill it with a chosen color. In order to acknowledge, you will have to press the left button of your mouse and select the shape of SVG image which is going to be filled with a new color. This is how professional designers match various shapes with companies logos.
Graphic Outline – use this option if you want to get rid of the line around SVG image. You can choose any other border color which surrounds the image you work with.
Graphic Effects – if you want to make your SVG image very stylish, the following graphic effects will help you to add 3D effects/shadows/glows.
Arrange – this are the similar tools which you can find in all Office programs for formatting images.
Bring forward/Send Backward – these tools should be used for layering your pictures on the top of your page. You can use this tool for placing any kind of objects in front/behind the picture.
Selection Pane – this is the tool for selecting certain items if you have quite a complex page.
Align – You can use this tool when you want to get your image to be aced along the edge side, in the middle position, or in any other pace on your page. Note, if you have sevral images and you want to treat them all as a single item, you should select the 1st item, keep holding the key “CTRL” and at the same time selecting other items. Then you have to press “Group”. In order to ungroup your items, you have to press “Group” > “Ungroup”.
Rotate – this s the command for rotating images. They can be flipped horizontally, as well as vertically.
Size – this is the tool which will resize/crop images on your page. In order to use this tool on its full potential, you should specify the width/height in inches.
Note that this feature is available to you only if you have the subscription to Office 365. In fact, it is very easy to convert SVG format to Office shapes. By doing this your SVG image will be disassembles and you will be able to edit certain parts of your image. To do this you will have to right-press your SVG image in the workbook/presentation/document and choose the option “Convert Shape” from the appeared menu.
